Šentjur na Polju is a small village on the left bank of the river Sava in the Sevnica municipality in central Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Styria. The municipality is now included in the Lower Sava statistical region.[2]
The local church from which the settlement gets its name is dedicated to Saint George (Slovene: Sveti Jurij or Šentjur for short) and belongs to the Loka pri Zidanem Mostu parish. It is a medieval building with a Romanesque floor plan that was restyled in the Baroque in the 17th century.[3]
